Ready Up Live Ep 1
Trying Times Call Us To Who We Are
The StrongFirst Code
I am a student of strength – The safety and success of my teammates depends on me – my technical skill, tactical proficiency, and attention to detail. StrongFirst is the School of Strength. Strength of body and mind. We demand discipline of character and respectful behavior towards others at all times, no exceptions. We expect innovation, built upon trust and through collaboration. I am a student of strength; I am a teammate; I lead and expect to be led.
I am a quiet professional – I lead by example and own my decisions in all situations. The ability to control my emotions and my actions, regardless of circumstance, sets me apart as uncompromising integrity is my standard. My character and honor are steadfast. I accept the responsibility of honoring the StrongFirst Code with a strong spirit. It is a privilege, without compromise, that I must earn every day in the service of others.
Strength has a greater purpose – StrongFirst is an Anti-fragile Worldwide Community of Strength. Join us. We are brought together by the conviction that strength has a greater purpose and increases in capability to thrive as a result of stressors, shocks, volatility, or failures. We demand the best effort from ourselves, beyond just resilience or robustness of the body. The way you carry your strength matters. We demand the moral courage to evolve your character to be worthy of leading other leaders with fairness.
Senior Leadership
Transformational Leadership must start at the top of the organization and be constantly evolving through rapidly changing business climates. Leaders at the top must have the self awareness to constantly assess their skill set, evaluate their negative reactionary patterns and have the courage to admit their fears. Your people and your culture are your “main thing” and receiving 100% buy-in from your team is the goal. Your people are the voice and primary instrument used to communicate the standards. Build leaders who invite people to be their best, create accountability, and reward people for meeting expectations.
Everybody else: Leading Up
Everyone is both a leader and a teammate. Expect to lead and be led. When leading up, use caution and respect, but remember when your leader is not giving the support you need, don’t blame him or her. Instead, reexamine what you can do better to clarify, educate, influence, or convince that person to give you what you need to succeed.
Take responsibility for leading everyone in your sphere of influence, superiors included.
If someone isn’t doing what you want, look in the mirror first and determine what you can do to better enable the situation.
Don’t ask your leader what you should do, tell them what you are going to do. Own it.
Re-opening status during COVID-19
Ready Up Performance exists to serve its patients and clients, so we thought we’d provide and update on how we are doing that!
-We remain by appointment only, greatly reducing exposure to those we serve.
-We are stocked with appropriate masks and gloves. We request clients bring their own if they have them.
-We are following all state guidelines for screening and implementing pulse oximetry as well for clients.
-All equipment is being sanitized before and after use.
-Fitness classes will be in person starting this week and will observe the above with social distancing at all times.
Free consults are still available for people who wish to visit our site and discuss their needs. The facility schedule is flexible and accommodating as we ramp operations back up, so now is a great time to get in! Registration for our clinic is available on our website and social media. Alternatively, if you have questions or trouble don’t hesitate to give us a call. Our clinic clinic is here for you!
Tele-visit Updates
As of this week we are offering tele-visits to those who require attention for potential orthopedic injuries to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. If you have back pain after a home workout, shoulder pain after a fall, or anything you may have questions about, call us at (216)-446-1803 to set up an appointment time! This can help keep you informed on what to do next with an injury and keep you out of the waiting room!
Coronavirus / COVID-19 Update
We want to post an update following recent events including the recent announcement by our state government regarding COVID-19 coronavirus. This week we plan to see all scheduled appointments. We are currently developing individualized plans for all patients and clients to reduce exposure risk and improve safety for both the clinic and by extension our patients. Our environment has and will always remain by appointment and a one to one atmosphere, so risk is significantly reduced in this regard. We will remain diligent in sanitation of equipment and clinician / patient hygiene alike. If you are not feeling well, we ask you call to see if it is appropriate to cancel your appointment. If you have been recent injured, we are currently making tele-visits available for patients to be seen from their homes. Ready Up Performance sees patients who are first responders and health care providers. We are committed to the well being of all of our patients and the promotion of health to those who are assisting during these difficult times. Stay strong and move well!
We will post updates as the situation develops.
The Low Down on Low Back Pain
Did you know that back pain is one of the primary reasons people decide to see their doctor? This is a condition that affects many people in our country and can lead to missed work, a reduced quality of life and significant medical expense. So what can be done about it?

Often times being seen for low back pain can lead to expensive imaging. We often have patients who believe imaging will help to determine the cause of their problems. While this seems self evident, the reality is that x-rays and MRIs have poor reliability in determining causes of back pain. They also add significant cost to care. Individuals seeking care for low back pain who go to physical therapy save a significant amount of money and can get an accurate examination to address their problem.
Health Services Research published a study for cost of care spanning 1 year from physical therapy referral vs MRI in people with low back pain. On average a patient who received physical therapy spent $504 dollars over 3.8 visits vs $1,306 in the MRI group. Over the next year those costs were $1,871 for the physical therapy group and $6,664 for the MRI group. The number of procedures that are likely to occur from imaging is much higher, and the chances of “over-treating” with interventions that aren’t necessary is higher as well.
Our practice challenges itself to deliver the best care we can for a reasonable cost. You receive care from a physical therapist who has undergone doctoral education and has the examination skills to ensure accurate assessment of orthopedic pain while ruling out other serious causes. Every person we see is given the time they need to discuss their problem and receive a comprehensive examination. Patients are treated the day they are examined and we strive to deliver pain relief immediately. We work with patients to identify the root cause of their pain and develop a plan with them to meet their needs. If you have any questions you can contact us through our social media or hit the “Book Now” button to schedule a free 30 minute consult to discuss your needs.
